Our CSA

About Community Supported Agriculture (CSA)

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) has become increasingly popular over the past few years. It is a mutually beneficial agreement between farmer and member in which members pay a fee to join the farm which entitles them to a bi-weekly (or monthly) box of an assortment of local, seasonal product from the farm.

The CSA model is a mutually beneficial model for both farmer and member. Members are assured a certain amount of meat at a discounted price while we have a commitment from members for the designated season. We see the CSA as a very safe option for members, unlike vegetable CSAs that run higher risk due to seasonal fluctuations and crop failures, we raise animals year round and deliver the highest quality meats with confidence.

Our farm offers conscientiously raised, hormone and antibiotic free, grass-fed and grass-finished beef and pastured based pork and poultry. We believe in raising our animals in a manner that is humane and respectful, which extends not only to our animals but to our land as well. Our sustainable, more holistic approach to animal husbandry yields better tasting, safer, and more nutritious meats and poultry.

What’s In It For You?

Whether you choose to purchase a half share (monthly) or a full share (bi-weekly), each box will contain an assortment of chicken, beef, and pork. Each box will vary slightly with what is available and in season. During the winter, you can expect more roasts and slow-cooker items while the summer will bring a multitude of items for grilling. You will get to try not only a variety of different cuts, but also some of our most popular soups, pasties, and the new items we are introducing in 2012.

Our grass-fed, grass-finished beef and pasture raised pork and poultry are of the highest quality and nutrient content. Grass-fed meats and dairy contain the proper ratio of Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids, they’re lower in fat and calories than conventionally raised meats, and they’re higher in conjugated lineoleic acid (the cancer-fighting fat) and vitamins than conventionally raised meat products.
