Chef Jason Veal (formerly of The Madison Club) has joined our team and has created wonderful sandwiches, small plates, specials, soups, and desserts. All of the meat used at The Cookhouse, we raise here at Jordandal Farms and source as much local products as possible. Cheeses from Green & Fayette Counties. Bread from Stalzy’s, Madison. Ice Cream and Milk from Sassy Cow Creamery, Sun Prairie. Vegetables from many fellow market vendors. Desserts and sides are made in house, even the pickle that accompanies your dish. We offer sides that are made daily – sweet potato bacon salad, cabbage/carrot slaw, cheese & summer sausage, hummus and veggies. We even off pickled eggs…just like the ones your grandma use to make.
All of frozen entrees (that we currently offer at the farmers’ markets) are also available to purchase to make those long days end with a great and quick meal – pizzas, soups, pasties, meatballs, beef stroganoff, pork fajita, pate and bolognese sauce – just thaw and heat!
Don’t get to Verona very often?? It is a great Wisconsin town which offers many things. There is a bike path, baseball and soccer fields, a unique cheese shop, a couple of coffee shops that you sit outside and visit on a beautiful day, St Vincent DuPaul’s thrift store, a bike shop and a small farmers’ market on Tuesday afternoons. Fun to take a short ride and see what Verona has to offer!
